Call for Applications: Sandbox Student Challenge Cycle 2026

Areté's Sandbox Student Challenge invites visionary undergraduate and graduate students of Ateneo de Manila University to bring innovative ideas to life.
This initiative provides funding to support exploration into uncharted problem spaces with the potential to inspire innovation and creative solutions. It encourages interdisciplinary approaches, demonstrating how the arts and humanities, sciences, social sciences, management, and education can intersect and engage with communities beyond the academic environment.
Teams awarded with the grant will gain the following benefits:
- Php 25,000 working capital
- Priority access to the Eugenio Lopez Jr Makerspace (home to 3D printers, laser cutters, and large format printers, among others)
- Dedicated workspace in the Eduardo J Aboitiz Sandbox Zone for the entire Residency period (January to December 2026)
- Php 50,000 space-use grant for Areté facilities
- Mentorship from an industry expert in interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation
