08 Oct 2025
At the Oblation Cup IV held last August in Quezon City, three Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) Blue Eagles earned podium finishes.
Jowie Cabaccan (7-Alfonso) captured gold in the U12 Mixed Épée.
Ethan Santos (7-Aranha) brought home the silver in the U14 Boys’ Sabre, while Qody Omengan (9-Ireland) secured the bronze in the same category.
The Ateneo Fencing Team's sabre coaches are Edward Daliva and Rebekah Reyno, and Alexander Ragot for épée. The tournament drew participants from a range of fencing clubs and school-based teams across Metro Manila, fostering a competitive yet developmental environment for young fencers. Oblation Cup IV continued its tradition of providing a dynamic platform for aspiring athletes.
Organized by Oblation Fencing—a respected fencing club in Metro Manila—the event featured U12 to U14 categories across all three weapons: épée, foil, and sabre. As in previous editions, the competition focused on skill development, offering young fencers the opportunity to gain valuable tournament experience through spirited and well-matched bouts.
The Oblation Cup IV was held on August 24 and August 30–31, 2025, at the FBR Arcade Building along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.
