Ateneo Boys’ Swim Team secures 1st Runner-Up finish in UAAP Season 88

The Ateneo de Manila Boys’ Swimming Team concluded the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 88 Swimming Tournament as 1st Runner-Up, marking the fourth consecutive year that the Blue and White claimed second place in the junior boys’ division.
From 6 to 9 November 2025, the Blue Eagles competed at the New Clark City Aquatic Center in Capas, Tarlac, where they earned a strong medal haul of 2 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze medals across 15 events.
Representing the team were Cross Acal (8-Delgado), Tylo Alcudia (10-Rodrigues), Mattheo Baclig (8-Cottam), Edgar Gaston (10-Regis), Gab Osabel (10-Spinola), Ziggo Pablo (7-Baena), and Alrech Sarmiento (9-Kisai) from AJHS; and Koosh Bascuña (11-Perez), Zion Jalla (11-De Brito), Thirdy Lentejas (12-Evans), Miguel Martinez (12-Holland), Marcus Molino (11-Escribano), AJ Reyes (11-Garnet), Miguel Tungul (12-Acquaviva), and team captain Gabe Gaw (12-Sullivan) from the ASHS.
One of the highlights of the tournament came from Miguel Martinez, who tied the UAAP boys’ record in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 30.04, matching the mark set by fellow Atenean Rian Tirol on 9 November 2018.

Leading Ateneo’s charge was Miguel Martinez, who amassed 2 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronzes, along with his record-tying performance in the 50m breaststroke.
