Grade 2 TKD jin Liam Kim grabs double gold in PTA QC Championships

The Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) Taekwondo varsity delivered a stellar performance at the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) Quezon City Taekwondo Championships 2025, held on 18 October 2025 at the Novadeci Convention Center in Quezon City. A contingent of 24 AGS taekwondo jins harvested 8 gold, 18 silver, and 12 bronze medals across the kyorugi (sparring) and poomsae (forms) events.
The team's success was widespread, with 14 athletes winning medals in both poomsae (p) and kyorugi (k). Liam Kim (2-Bargas) achieved a spectacular feat, winning Gold in both Poomsae and Kyorugi, while Jordan Silerio (3-Samat) secured a Gold in Poomsae and a Silver in Kyorugi. Winning one gold and one bronze medal each were jins Adam Asinas (4-Soliman), Milo Rosario (2-Narra), and Benjhamin Tan (6-Faber).

Four jins secured silver in both poomsae and kyorugi: Phil Cajucom (4-Soliman), Jude Poyaoan (3-Makiling), Alex Salvan (4-Tupas), and Jax Sto. Domingo (3-Arayat).

Earning a silver and a bronze medal each were James Aquino (3-Banahaw), Mason Aquino (6-Regis), and Kale Manalang (4-Sultan Kudarat).
Rounding out the multi-medal winners, Louie Dela Cruz (4-Sikatuna) and Vito Sarmiento (5-T’boli) each won bronze medals in both poomsae and kyorugi.
Eight other athletes contributed significantly to the AGS’ medal haul: Enzo Hizon (4-Humabon) and Deus Malapitan (6-Pignatelli) both clinched gold medals in kyorugi. Earning silver in kyorugi were Thomas Borja (5-Mangyan), Kirsten Cantong (2-Yakal), Juancho Dela Cruz (5-Dumagat), Daryn Ferrer (6-Claver), Odin Joaquin (4-Sultan Kudarat), and Zane Pua (4-Soliman). Jaaziah Gaela (5-Maranaw) and Christina Tugano (2-Duhat) secured bronze medals in Kyorugi.

The AGS taekwondo varsity is under the supervision of coaches Roel Borjal, Joey Cesar Paja, Jason Lenard Locsin, and Vincent Gabriel Rodriguez.
