AGS Blue Eagles crowned QC Division Meet Football Champions

Our AGS Blue Eagle booters are one step closer to playing in the Palarong Pambansa 2026! Ateneo de Manila emerged as Quezon City Division Meet Champions in the football tournament held on 22–23 November 2025 at the FEU Diliman Football Field. The Ateneo de Manila team was composed mainly of players from Midgets C (born 2014), Midgets B (born 2013), and Midgets D (born 2015): Alonso Azores (5-Tausug), Marcus Bonto (5-Bagobo), Andrei Castañeda (6-Bellarmine), Gab Castro (6-Berchmans), Lucas Chuidian (6-Hurtado), Marcus Cuyugan (6-Brebeuf), Aaron De Villa (6-Brebeuf), Anton Landicho (6-Regis), Yñakhi Lao (6-Berchmans), Zico Mendoza (6-Xavier), Sochi Osite (5-T’boli), Miggy Pineda (6-Faber), Ethan San Diego (5-Manobo), Javi Sumpaico (6-Brebeuf), Miguel Tagarda (6-Pignatelli), Marcus Tale (6-Xavier), Max Unson (6-Kostka), and Gabby Villanueva (6-Brebeuf). The team was also represented by three players from Claret School of Quezon City: Lucas Boquiron, Mikhail Lee, and Xancho Sedenio. Ateneo’s Sam Krijns (5-Mangyan) served as a reserve player for the squad.
Three players from the team received individual awards. Miguel Tagarda was awarded Best Defender, and Zico Mendoza received the Best Striker award. For scoring the most goals in the tournament, Miggy Pineda received both the Golden Boot and Most Valuable Player awards.
Ateneo topped the eliminations by beating Project 6 Elementary School, Melencio Castelo Elementary School, and San Gabriel Elementary School. They then won their semifinal match against Old Balara Elementary School and secured the championship by defeating Bonifacio Elementary School. The team conceded zero goals in all their matches, earning them the right to represent Quezon City in the National Capital Region Meet to be held in 2026.
Earlier in the season, the Ateneo de Manila team won the right to represent District 7 by defeating Claret School in the Athletic and Sports Association of Private Schools Quezon City (ASAPSQC) competition held at Claret School on 19 September 2025.
