17 Dec 2025
Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) golfers delivered an impressive showing at the Play Golf 2025 Interschool Stroke Play and Match Play Championship, held over four weekends from 8 November to 7 December 2025. Competing in the Stroke Play format for seeding into the Match Play phase, the Blue Eagles finished strong and emerged as the top seed heading into the next round of competition.
On the individual front, the AJHS golfers turned in outstanding performances, with four players earning podium finishes across their respective age divisions and leading Ateneo’s dominance of the High School team division. Rajah Crisostomo (10–Pongracz) captured the championship title in the 15–18-year-old boys’ division, posting a tournament-leading 305 strokes across his four best rounds. In the 13–14-year-old boys’ division, Race Manhit (7–Alvares) claimed the championship with 311 strokes, while Iñigo Gallardo (8–Dajani) and Juanton Cruz (8–Collins) completed an all-Ateneo podium with second- and third-place finishes at 317 and 320 strokes, respectively.
The tournament was played across the following dates and venues:
• 8–9 November – Caliraya Springs Golf Club, Cavinti, Laguna
• 23 & 30 November – Mimosa Plus Golf Course, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga
• 6–7 December – Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club, General Trias, Cavite
The Play Golf 2025 Interschool Championship featured 22 schools competing in the Stroke Play format, with 135 players vying for top honors. Eight schools fielded teams in either the Grade School or High School divisions, or both, all aiming to advance to the championship’s second phase—the head-to-head Match Play round set for January 2026.
As the top seed entering the Match Play format, the Blue Eagles look to sustain their momentum when competition resumes in January 2026 at the tournament’s designated venues.
