AGS athletes Joe Mendoza and Charlotte Saluta win multiple golds and silvers at STY Int'l Gymnastics Cup

Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) student-athletes Joe Mendoza (3-Pulog) and Charlotte Saluta (1-Madasalin) brought home multiple gold and silver medals from the 10th Sonny Ty (STY) International Gymnastics Cup, held from 17–19 October 2025 at the Alonte Sports Center in Biñan, Laguna.
Competing in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Level 1 category for gymnasts aged 8 years old and above, Joe Mendoza delivered a strong and well-rounded performance across multiple apparatuses. He clinched three gold medals in the floor, pommel horse, and vault events, showcasing both strength and control in his routines. Joe also earned a silver medal in the high bar. With consistent performances throughout the competition, he secured 2nd place in the individual all-around event, marking an impressive achievement in his category.
Meanwhile, another young gymnast also made her mark on the international stage. Charlotte Saluta delivered confident routines that earned her gold medals in the beam and vault events, along with silver medals in the bars and floor. Her strong showing highlights her skill, discipline, and promising potential in the sport.
The Sonny Ty International Gymnastics Cup is an annual gymnastics competition where athletes and delegates from across the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, and India battle it out on the uneven bars, balance beam, vault, and floor exercise. The 10th edition of the competition marked its first staging in the Philippines and featured the largest field to date, with over 800 participating gymnasts.
