Moulic secures Gold for PH at Malaysian Fencing Meet

At the 4th Malaysian Fencing Federation Minime International Fencing Tournament, held from 29 October to 2 November 2025, four fencers from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS) and one from Ateneo Senior High School (ASHS) won medals for the Philippines.
Leading the Blue Eagles was ASHS athlete Mairon Moulic (12–Ogilvie), who captured the gold medal in the U-17 Individual Men’s Sabre event.
AJHS athletes Qody Omengan (9–Ireland), Ethan Santos (7–Aranha), Eliam Mojica (8–Canisius), and Trent Ignacio (7–Baena) earned a bronze medal in the U-14 Team Men’s Sabre event.
Ignacio, together with three non-Atenean teammates, also secured another bronze medal for the Philippines in the U-12 Team Men’s Sabre event.
Ateneo’s sabre coaches are Rebekah Reyno and Edward Daliva, with Coach Daliva accompanying the team to the competition in Malaysia.
Organized by the Wisma Olympic Council of Malaysia, the tournament drew competitors from the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Germany, China, Oman, France, Hong Kong, and Australia.
