1st grader Vanellope Alegro brings home four gold medals from Taipei Gymnastics Meet

Competing in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Level 2 category, Ateneo de Manila Grade School (AGS) student-athlete Vanellope Alegro (1-Malakas) delivered an outstanding performance in the 8-Under (8U) division of the Taiwan Youth Program Association (TYPA) Girls Gymnastics Meet 2025, held in Taipei, Taiwan, on 6 December 2025.

Showcasing consistency, confidence, and control across all apparatuses, Vanellope captured four gold medals, claiming first place in each apparatus—beam, floor, vault, and uneven bars. Her clean execution and well-performed routines set her apart from her peers and highlighted her versatility as a young athlete.

She further distinguished herself by being named 3rd Individual All-Around Champion, an award given to gymnasts who demonstrate excellence across every event. Her all-around showing reflected both strong technical skill and remarkable composure throughout the competition.

The TYPA Girls Gymnastics Meet is an annual international competition that brings together young female gymnasts from across Asia to showcase their talents in artistic gymnastics. Organized by the Taiwan Youth Program Association of the Taiwan American School, the meet offers participants valuable opportunities for high-level competition and international exposure.
