AGS Born 2016-2017 booters earn int'l podium finish in Thailand

Composed of players from the Ateneo de Manila Football Born 2016–2017 Midgets, Ateneo White secured a podium finish at the International Football League (IFL) Tournament held in Chonburi, Thailand on 13–14 December 2025.
Team Ateneo White—made up of Knox Angeles (4-Humabon), Jacob Turla (3-Samat), Daniel Adams (4-Agustin Sumuroy), Arby Soller (4-Marikudo), Andres Prieto (4-Humabon), Paco Molina (4-Dagohoy), Diego Tagarda (4-Dagohoy), Alexander Adams (4-Diego Silang), Hugo Daquigan (3-Pulog), and Joaquin dela Fuente (4-Lakandula)—demonstrated grit, teamwork, and composure throughout the tournament, ultimately finishing as 2nd Runner-Up in the Cup Division.
The team was coached by Mark Maravilla and Johnson Lee, whose guidance helped the boys compete confidently against strong international squads.
Meanwhile, the other members of the Midgets Born 2016–2017 varsity, competing as Ateneo Blue, placed 8th overall in the tournament. The team was composed of Sandro Abadilla (4-Marikudo), Lucas Bulalacao (4-Diego Silang), Pocholo Castro (3-Matutum), Mikael Dolor (3-Matutum), Xylo Escultor (4-Lapu-Lapu), Santi Hui (3-Pinatubo), Luc Lopez (4-Sikatuna), Marco Macaraig (4-Sumakwel), and Rocco Verzosa (3-Bulusan). They were coached by JP Merida, Gilbert Ayuson, and Jerwin Belina.
The IFL Tournament brought together young football clubs from across Asia, with participating teams from Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and other neighboring countries. The two-day competition featured multiple age-group divisions and followed a round-robin and knockout format, providing a highly competitive international platform for grassroots players.
