Born-2017 Blue Eagles claim Xavier Cup U8 football championship

Another proud milestone for our Ateneo de Manila Boys Midgets F (Born 2017) Football Varsity! Our young Blue Eagles once again proved their grit and teamwork as the only all–Born 2017 squad to rise above the competition and claim the U8 Championship Trophy at the Xavier Cup Football Tournament. Facing highly competitive teams, the boys played with heart, discipline, and the true Ateneo spirit from start to finish. This victory is a testament to their hard work, commitment, and unity both on and off the field. Each player stepped up, supported one another, and competed with courage beyond their years—making this championship triumph even more meaningful. 

The championship team is composed of Collin Babst (3-Matutum), Tan Baquiran (2-Lauan), Pocholo Castro (3-Matutum), Hugo Daquigan (3-Pulog), Zio Dizon (3-Kanlaon), Pio Flameño (3-Halcon), Dion Lozano (3-Data), Vin Paez (3-Mayon), Lucas Rosanes (3-Bulusan), Matti Timbol (3-Kanlaon), Cayden Torres (3-Data), and Rocco Verzosa (3-Bulusan). They were coached by Johnson Lee and Gil Kumar Birdi.

The 2025 Xavier Cup Football Tournament was a one-day competition held on 6 December 2025 at Xavier School in San Juan City.
