ASHS shuttlers Benasa, Ongpin medal in Fil-Chinese Invitational Tournament

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School (ASHS) badminton varsity players Mia Benasa (11-Wright) and Quito Ongpin (11-Brebeuf) both earned podium finishes at the 5th Filipino Chinese Intercommunity Invitational (FCII) Badminton Tournament, held on 29–30 November 2025 at DragonSmash Taguig.

In the singles events, Benasa captured Silver in the 17-Under Girls Singles category, while Ongpin earned Bronze in the 17-Under Boys Singles category.

The two also teamed up in the 17-Under Mixed Doubles category, where they secured Bronze.

The strong performances of the Blue Eagles highlight the continued competitiveness of the ASHS badminton program in interschool tournaments.

The FCII Invitational brought together student-athletes from several Filipino-Chinese and private schools across Metro Manila, including Xavier School San Juan, Chiang Kai Shek College, Jubilee Christian Academy, CCF Life Academy, St. Stephen’s High School, Hope Christian High School, Philippine Cultural College, and Immaculate Conception Academy, among others. The tournament served as a platform for young badminton players to showcase their skills while fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participating schools.
