Class Arrangements for Thursday, 19 March 2026 (HE Advisory)
17 Mar 2026 | Office of the Vice President for Higher Education
In light of the announced nationwide transportation strike by Piston, undergraduate and graduate classes of the Schools of Education and Learning Design, Humanities, Management, Science and Engineering, and Social Sciences are to be held online on Thursday, 19 March 2026.
Faculty with laboratory classes, as well as lecture classes requiring face-to-face activities, should assess their pedagogical needs. Upon consultation with their students, the faculty members may opt to have their classes onsite. Faculty should provide special consideration to students who may be affected by the strike. Facilities will remain available for use, especially for online classes.
For other scheduled academic activities that need to be done onsite, permission must be obtained from the VP Higher Education with the endorsement by the appropriate dean. Formation and other student activities that need to be done onsite should obtain permission from the VP Mission Integration with the endorsement by the appropriate director or AVP in the Mission Integration cluster.
For the Schools of Medicine and Public Health, Law, Government and Business, the respective Deans of these schools are to make announcements appropriate to their contexts.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
