Why was my Blueboard message rejected?

31 Jul 2020 | University Marketing & Communications Office

[Update as of 22 May 2023: Until further notice, messages with attachments or inline images will be rejected. Please see email from Blueboard adminstrator with the subject line "[Important] Blueboard guidelines update (re: file attachments; deleting old Blueboard messages)".]

Your message to Blueboard was rejected for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Your message is not an "employees only" piece of information. Always remember that Blueboard is an INTERNAL MAILING LIST meant for dissemination of important, mission-critical information relevant to Ateneo de Manila’s employees and affiliates. There are no students/alumni/public in this mailing list.
  • It is a news piece or a public event announcement. It should be posted on ateneo.edu instead. Offices that have CMS access must post it directly on the website. If you need assistance, email digitalcomms.umco@ateneo.edu.
    • If it is an event/program for employees only, please say so in your message, so it can be approved.
    • Event invitations are only approved at the beginning of the workweek.
  • It is an advertisement. Ads are not allowed on Blueboard.
  • The message is not in text form (or the main info is not in text form). Please send your messages as inline text (especially important information), not as an attachment/embedded image.
    • You can still send messages with embedded images/attachments, but the main info should be in the body of the email.
  • You are asking moderators to edit/change content before approving the message. Moderators can't do it; send your message as you would any other email (aka, no "please post" messages or anything similar).
    • It has extraneous text in the subject line/body. These include stuff like "FWD" or "PLEASE POST", etc.  Please remove these before sending to Blueboard.
  • Branding violations. Please visit branding.ateneo.edu for more information.
  • Duplicate messages. Please send messages only ONCE, and wait until it is approved. In some cases, another office might have also sent the exact same message. Please do not spam the mailing list.
  • Erroneous links/attachments. Resend your message with the correct link/attachment.
  • Your message is just a minor erratum. If the error does not affect the core message of the email (ex, minor grammatical/spelling mistakes), please do not send an erratum anymore. Only errata concerning factual info (date/name/link correction, for example) will be entertained.
  • You clicked on "Reply To All." Please be mindful in replying, especially if you only intend to reply to the sender. Please do not include blueboard@ateneo.edu to your reply.
  • You meant to send a message to the Blueboard moderators only. Please send it to digitalcomms.umco+blueboard@ateneo.edu instead.

For more information, read the Blueboard Policies in full.
