4 May 2022
Memo to : The University Community
Subject : Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs
I am pleased to inform the University community that upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the Ateneo de Manila Board of Trustees, the Office of University Development (OUD) and the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) will be integrated into a single office beginning 1 June 2022.
This integrated office, to be called the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs (OUDAA), will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to advance the mission and strategies of the University among its alumni and donors. In particular, it has two main functions:
- To foster and continuously build a lifelong partnership with friends of the University, graduates, alumni associations, parents, parents associations, and donors through formation, engagement, and culture-enhancing programs.
- To synergize and energize fund and resource generation essential to advancing the academic, research, sustainability and social engagement thrusts of the University.
I am pleased to announce as well the appointment of Fr Norberto Ma “Kit” L Bautista SJ as Director of OUDAA effective 1 June 2022. Fr Kit is the incumbent Director of OAR, a post he has held since April 2014.
On behalf of the University, I thank Fr Kit for his magnanimity and readiness in accepting this new appointment and expanded role.
We also take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Mr Arnaldo “Arnie” D Del Rosario for shepherding the OUD since November 2015. Through his leadership, OUD established the Donors and Donations Management System database, the Donations Portal - Ateneo Giving Page, and implemented a new scheme for maximizing the utilization of endowment fund earnings in order to provide additional scholarships, professorial chairs and research grants.
Let us offer our support and prayers to Fr Kit as he takes on this new mission with our alumni and donors.
