Appeal for Academic Probation for SY 2022-2023

01 Jun 2022 | Loyola Schools, Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

To:

LS Undergraduate Students

From:

(Sgd.) Josefina D. Hofileña, PhD
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Subject:

Appeal for Academic Probation for SY 2022-2023

This is to remind you of LS Regulation V.8 (Eligibility for Promotion to the Next Year Level) stating that students must meet the QPI requirement for their current year level to be promoted to the next year level. The following minimum yearly QPI requirements must be met at the end of the school year:

First Year:  1.80

Sophomore Year: 1.90

Junior Year: 2.00

Senior Year: 2.00 (For students enrolled in five-year undergraduate degree programs)

Students who were re-admitted, came back from Leave of Absence, or were allowed to finish their course requirements must meet the required QPI as stated in their signed condition letter.

Students who did not obtain the required QPI for their year level, but wish to continue their studies here at the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools, may file an appeal for probation to the Standards Committee. Students who intend to apply for probation must submit a duly accomplished Appeal for Probation Form.

Students are reminded that it is the Yearly QPI, and NOT the cumulative QPI, that is the basis for eligibility for graduation or promotion to the next year level.

The following are INELIGIBLE to appeal for probation:

  1. Students who were previously on academic probation

  2. Readmitted students who previously withdrew from the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools due to academic deficiency (failure to meet the Yearly QPI)

Students are expected to submit appeals for probation before the start of SY 2022-2023. For those who intend to enroll in the Intersession Term 2022, please send your appeal by Tuesday, 07 June 2022. Appeals received after this date will be scheduled in the succeeding meetings of the Standards Committee. However, it is assumed that students who do not submit appeals before the online enlistment period for the First Semester, SY 2022-2023 are no longer interested to continue their studies in the Loyola Schools.

For inquiries, please email the Office of the ADAA at appeals.standards.adaa.ls@ateneo.edu.

Thank you very much.
