Data Collection for the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings
Ateneo de Manila University participated for the second time in the 2022 THE Impact Rankings.
The results saw Ateneo de Manila University ranked 101-200 in the world — the highest ever for a participating Philippine university since its inception in 2019. This was a validation of our institutional commitment to social transformation. More importantly, however, this provides us with valuable insight into how we can better contribute to the United Nations Social Development Goals (SDGs).
Participation in this world ranking allows us to assess ourselves not only on the basis of our own standards but also considering accepted global standards. This is an essential part of our external quality assurance for our social development initiatives.
The Vice President for Mission Integration (VPMI), assisted by the Strategy and Quality Management Office (SQMO), will be leading the effort to address gaps that are relevant and important to us as a university.
The SQMO will begin the data collection process from 01 August to 15 September 2022 for a first week of November 2022 submission. The first step in the data collection process will be done by internally vetting existing data from the THE Impact submission last year.
The SQMO will then get in touch with the SDG-committee clusters composed of experts across the university that will provide assistance in vetting evidence, particularly focusing on the metrics in which the university has had relatively limited contribution and in reviewing the 1000-word narratives to be submitted.
The SQMO may also enjoin the units of the university to further add to data collected through a Google link if needed.
I request for your kind cooperation so that we can pull together a submission that is truly reflective of what we do.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
