Memo # U2223-019
25 August 2022
Memo to :
The University Community
Subject :
Integration of LSQA with SQMO
Strategy, rankings and accreditations show that quality is in our core. These are currently handled separately across the University. In our effort to institutionalize best practices in these areas, the Loyola Schools Quality Assurance Office (LSQA) and the Strategy and Quality Management Office (SQMO) will be consolidated into one office under SQMO, effective 1 August 2022. This is part of the ongoing review of our organizational structures and processes across the University.
In the past several months, both LSQA and SQMO have been working hand-in-hand towards a smooth transition. The SQMO’s main responsibilities will be:
- to facilitate the development and implementation of the university strategic plan on the basis of a real understanding of the changing educational landscape for the twenty-first century;
- to manage the development and implementation of quality assurance policies and processes; and
- to supervise the participation in various institutional accrediting organizations and university ranking bodies.
These will involve constant dialogue with the university community and key stakeholders in identifying key institutional goals, formulating metrics, and designing systems for data management. These will entail monitoring and evaluating progress and working with the community to continue refining and recalibrating university goals and quality assurance metrics.
We ask the cooperation and support of the entire community as we move forward with the Lux in Domino Strategic Plan 2030, our local and international accreditations, as well as the various benchmarking and performance monitoring programs.
Ad majorem Dei gloriam.
