B. Reminders
- Please read and abide by the policies and procedures as indicated in the Thesis/Dissertation/Capstone Project Guidelines.
- Use of Revised ADGP Form 23 (Announcement of Oral Defense Form) - The revised form now includes the endorsement of the Reader (see Section C.3 of the 16 August 2022 memo), in addition to the Primary Adviser, in securing the approval for oral defense. The Departments/Programs are encouraged to take into consideration the time needed for the reader to review the manuscript prior to submission of ADGP Form 23 to the Office of the Registrar.
- TDCP Adviser as part of the examination panel - The Primary Adviser is now part of the composition of the examination panel. The primary adviser must also submit the ADGP Form 8.1 for thesis and dissertation defense.
- Schedule of Oral Defense
- The Final Oral Defense should fall within the official academic calendar of the School Year as released by the Office of the Registrar.
- If the student wishes to submit the final revised copy of the TDCP and other requirements within the submission deadline of a particular semester, the final oral defense should take place on or before the deadline set by the OADGP. This includes students with an approved extension in a particular semester/term.
- A student whose program does not require a final oral defense of the capstone project enrolls and submits or presents their papers within the deadline of the final oral defense set by the OADGP.
- TDCP Manuscript Format - Students are encouraged to use the automated thesis template in order to assist them in complying with the LS formatting standards.
- Students should adhere to the policies and procedures of the Loyola Schools. Students may send their questions/inquiries through email or google chat at adgp.ls@ateneo.edu.
As always, we are highly grateful for your patience and continued cooperation. We hope you do not mind if we ask for your assistance in disseminating this information to all concerned stakeholders involved in graduate student research.
