Officer-in-Charge, University Residence Halls Director (OVPA Memo)

06 Oct 2022 | Office of the Vice President for Administration

DATE:

6 October 2022

MEMO TO:

The University Community

FROM:

Rodolfo P. Ang
Vice President

RE:

Officer-in-Charge, University Residence Halls Director

The President’s Memo #U2223-015 dated 1 Aug 2022 announced, among other things, the creation of a new unit under the Vice President for Administration: the University Residence Halls, or URH, to take responsibility for the operations of all residential facilities on campus, including the International Residence Hall (IRH), Single Faculty Housing, the guests rooms at the Pollock Renewal Center and what were previously collectively known as the Ateneo Residence Halls (ARH):  Cervini and Eliazo Halls, and the University Dorms.

I would like to inform the community that I will serve as Officer-in-charge of the University Residence Halls effective today, 6 October 2022, until such time as we are able to hire a new, full-time Director of URH.

All ordinary business and day-to-day operational concerns should be brought to the attention of Ms. Marie Felicidad B. Villanueva (mbvillanueva@ateneo.edu), Officer-in-charge of the Office of the Assistant to the Director for Facilities and Operations of the URH.

We ask for everyone’s support, cooperation, and patience as our team works to ensure continued high quality service to our stakeholders even as we undergo this period of transition.

On behalf of the University, I would like to thank Mr. Rene San Andres for his invaluable service to the Ateneo Residence Halls (ARH) from the time of his appointment as Director in April 2018 to the present, steering ARH through the turbulent lockdown period of 2020-2022. We especially recognize his invaluable contributions in helping to draw up the governance structures and operating systems for the newly created University Residence Halls. We wish him all the best in his new appointment as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs of the Loyola Schools.

Please be guided accordingly.

Thank you.
