MEMO TO:
The University Community
RE:
Edward S Go, 1938–2021
With deep sadness, we inform the University community of the passing away of Edward S Go on 16 September 2021.
Eddie was as member of the Ateneo de Manila Board of Trustees from 1998 to 2014, four years of which he was Chairman of the Board. He was a true blue Atenean, graduating as the class valedictorian in grade school (1953), high school (1957), and college (1961) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Science, magna cum laude.
Known for his quiet brilliance and integrity, Eddie had a long and illustrious career in banking and finance, and sat on the board of several top corporations. He was also committed to helping alleviate poverty in the country. Aside from his generous support for the university’s feeding and housing programs for the poor, Eddie was the Chairman of ASA Philippines, one of the biggest microfinance groups in the country today, since its founding in 2004.
The 2022 Lux in Domino Award, announced earlier, will be conferred on Eddie posthumously.
We request the Ateneo community to keep Edward S Go and his family in your prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto Eddie, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
