Rockwell campus renovation update (HE Memo#Y1.15)

I am writing to provide you with an important update regarding the ongoing renovation of our Rockwell campus.

We previously announced that the campus would be completely shut down from 16 June to 31 July 2023, to ensure the safety and security of our community while major electrical and mechanical works were undertaken.

We regret to inform you, however, that owing to unforeseen circumstances and additional permitting requirements from the Makati City administration, we have not been able to reopen the building based on our original schedule. 

Please be assured that your university administration is working closely with all officials concerned to ensure compliance with all requirements at the soonest possible time.  With their help and support, we anticipate a physical return to campus by 15 October 2023. They expect that the additional 75 days will be sufficient to allow the various contractors involved in the project to complete all mission-critical tasks and permitting requirements.

During this period of extended closure, access to the building will continue to remain restricted only to persons directly involved with the construction and renovation effort.  We ask for your understanding and full cooperation with this directive. We know how this extended closure may cause inconvenience to the community and disrupt your plans.  For this, we offer our sincerest apologies.

The safety of our community remains our highest priority.  We sincerely appreciate your support during this renovation period. Communication is essential, so we will make sure to provide regular updates on the progress of the construction to keep everyone informed.
