Memo # U2324-061
12 Oct 2023
TO:
The University Community
SUBJECT:
Updated Guidelines for Campus Access
Safety and security are very important aspects of the university’s operations, on which the well-being of all our members and our properties are principally anchored.
While we would like to ease our restrictions on campus access and make it more convenient for our broader community to enter our campus, we need to do this without unduly compromising our safety and security.
The following campus access guidelines will be implemented for all the school units and offices of the University across our four campuses (Loyola, Pasig, Rockwell and Salcedo), effective 16 October 2023. These guidelines are characterized by relaxed campus access, but stricter building/complex access[*].
In general, employees and students of the University, employees of auxiliary units, employees of our concessionaires, and other regular visitors to the campus must be able to present a valid ID issued by the Ateneo or by one of its auxiliary units.
Infrequent visitors to the campus must surrender a valid photo ID for verification and recording in the security logbook. They will then be issued visitor’s passes in exchange for their IDs.
Campus Access: Pedestrians
Pedestrians wishing to enter the campus must present any of the following at our campus access point:
1. For employees and students of the University, employees of auxiliary units, employees of our concessionaires, and other regular visitors to the campus: a valid ID that has been issued by the Ateneo or by one of our auxiliary units.
2. For infrequent visitors to the campus: any valid photo ID, for verification and recording in the security logbook. They will be issued visitor’s passes in exchange for this ID.
Campus Access: Vehicles
1. All vehicles with valid Ateneo gate pass stickers will be allowed to freely enter the campus regardless of number of passengers.
2. Special lanes will be set aside for vehicles without valid gate pass stickers. If at least one occupant can present a valid ID issued by the Ateneo or one of our auxiliary units, the vehicle can proceed to enter the campus. Otherwise, at least one passenger must surrender a valid photo ID in exchange for a visitor’s pass, before being allowed to enter the campus.
3. Delivery drivers and couriers (Grab, Food Panda, Lalamove, etc.) must show proof of booking and surrender a valid photo ID in exchange for a visitor’s pass before they can gain campus entry.
Complex Access/Building Access (i.e. GS Complex, JHS Complex, SHS Complex, HE Complex, Central Administration offices):
Individuals who have been allowed to enter our campus, whether on foot, or on a vehicle, are allowed to freely access all public spaces within the campus: e.g. the Gesu, football fields, parking lots. However, the following additional requirements are imposed for complex/building access:
1. All individuals seeking access to any of our complexes and/or buildings will be asked to present one of the following:
a. a valid ID issued by the Ateneo or one of our auxiliary units
b. the visitor’s pass that was issued at the campus access point
c. a valid photo ID which will be surrendered in exchange for a visitor’s pass.
2. All individuals inside the complex/building must wear their valid Ateneo ID, auxiliary unit ID or visitor’s pass at all times. This is necessary in order for our security personnel to quickly identify any persons who might have gained complex access without proper authorization.
For any questions or concerns regarding campus access, please contact Ms Ma Lenee V De Asis, Administrative Supervisor at the Campus Safety and Mobility Office. You can contact her via email at csmo@ateneo.edu or by calling mobile number 09177190915.

* Definition of terms: “campus access” refers to the ability to enter the university grounds through any of our main campus entrance gates, while “complex access” refers to the ability to enter the Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School, or Higher Education complexes, through any of the identified entry points. For the Pasig, Rockwell and Salcedo campuses, “campus access” is synonymous to “complex access”, as all of these campuses are made up of single buildings.
