Final Oral Defense Deadline and Schedule of Comprehensive Examinations for First Semester SY 2023-2024
In view of the regular holidays on October 30, November 1 and 2 and the University Memo # U2324-063 declaring 31 October 2023 as a University holiday, we would like to inform you of the adjustments regarding the following schedules for this First Semester SY 2023-2024:
A. Comprehensive Examinations - 4 and 11 November 2023 (8:00 am to 12:00 noon)
Departments/Programs may reschedule the Comprehensive Examinations on the following dates:
- PART I - 11 November 2023
- PART II - 18 November 2023
If the new schedule is accepted by both the department/program and graduate students, the Department Chair/Program Director should inform our office (adgp.ls@ateneo.edu) in writing together with the list of students who gave their consent to the change of schedule of the Comprehensive Examinations. Please cc the Office of the University Registrar in the email (registrar@ateneo.edu).
Please take note that the deadline for submission of results (2 December 2023) will still remain the same as indicated in the academic calendar.
B. Final Thesis/Dissertation/Capstone Project Oral Defense deadline - 4 November 2023
The Final Oral Defense may be scheduled after 4 November 2023. However, the departments/programs are advised to schedule the final oral defense no later than the grade submission deadline. The following deadlines will still remain the same as indicated in the academic calendar:
- Grade submission by the Departments/Programs - 11 November 2023
- Dean’s approval - 6 December 2023, 5:00 pm
- AVP-GradEd’s approval - 11 December 2023, 5:00 pm
