Welcoming our Chaplain for Higher Education (Professional Schools) (HE Memo #Y1.38)

06 Nov 2023 | Office of the Vice President for Higher Education

HE Memo #Y1.38
6 November 2023

TO:

The Ateneo de Manila Community in Higher Education

FROM:

[Sgd] Maria Luz C Vilches, PhD
Vice President for Higher Education

SUBJECT:

Welcoming our Chaplain for Higher Education (Professional Schools)

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to Fr Raymund Benedict “RB” Hizon SJ, who graciously steps into the role of Chaplain for Higher Education (Professional Schools) for the Academic Year 2023-2024. This appointment, conferred by Fr Bobby on 7 June 2023, as per Memo U2324-003, marks a significant stride in our spiritual journey as a community converging under the broader umbrella of Higher Education.

Fr RB also currently serves as the Province Assistant for Health for the Philippine Jesuits and is Rector at the University Church of the Gesù. There, his fresh and new work in engaging the community and bringing Ateneans home has already begun to resonate within our Higher Education community. His dedication and nurturing presence will enrich our shared engagements, fostering discernment and spirituality amidst our academic endeavors.

Let us come together in extending a warm Atenean welcome to Fr RB as he embarks on this spiritual journey with us. May our collective endeavors continue to be guided by grace and wisdom as we navigate the paths of faith, hope, and love.

And as we eagerly anticipate the inspired and reflective moments Fr RB will share with us. Let us also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fr Patrick “Pat” Dominador Z Falguera, SJ, for his nurturing leadership in the Campus Ministry Office from January 2022 to May 2023. His brief, but eventful term has left an indelible mark on the community.
