Subject                     :

Appointment of Ms Rosanna M Borja as Senior High School Principal

Rosanna Borja

Upon the recommendation of the Search Committee for the Ateneo Senior High School Principal (ASHS), and with the approval of the Ateneo de Manila Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Rosanna “Sansan” M Borja as Senior High School Principal for a 3-year term, from 1 July 2024 to 31 May 2027.

Sansan brings with her over 35 years of experience as an educator.  She has been with the ASHS since its inception in 2016, as part of its pioneering leadership team as English subject area coordinator. Prior to this, she taught English with the Ateneo High School (2013-2016) and with the Ateneo Grade School (1988-2013), while at the same time serving as class/organization moderator and as subject area coordinator. Sansan’s familiarity with the Basic Education schools and her extensive experience in working with colleagues are demonstrated by her active engagement in various school committee work. In ASHS, she is a member of the Committee on Faculty Rank and Permanent Appointment (CFRPA), the Admissions Committee, Graduation Honors and Awards Committee, BE Strategic Planning Committee, Search Committee for SACs, Disciplinary Board Review, Child Protection Committee, Grading System Committee, and the Faculty Development Committee. Sansan holds a BS in Psychology (1988) and an MA in Psychology (2011) from Ateneo de Manila University.  She has authored English Language and Science textbooks for various publishing houses.

On behalf of the Ateneo de Manila, I would like to thank Sansan for graciously accepting the mission to lead the Senior High School.

As we welcome Sansan, we also express our deep gratitude to Mr Noel Miranda for shepherding the Senior High School during the last three years, especially during the challenging period of the pandemic.

We are grateful to the Search Committee composed of Ms Ma Cristina Alikpala (Chair), Ms Maricar Kristin Panganiban, Ms Karen Patricia Ong, Mr Luis Allan Melosantos, and Fr Sigmund de Guzman SJ. They readily gave their time to examine, interview, discern and recommend the most qualified candidates amidst their busy schedules. On behalf of the University, I thank them for helping us choose a leader.

Let us support our new principal with our cooperation and prayers. May the Holy Spirit bestow upon Sansan the wisdom and fortitude needed to lead the Senior High School, ensuring it fulfills its goal of nurturing Christ-centered young individuals of competence, conscience, compassion and commitment.
