SUBJECT:

2027 Undergraduate School PAASCU Accreditation Visit

In the Second Semester SY 2026-27, the undergraduate programs of the School of Humanities, John Gokongwei School of Management, School of Science and Engineering, and the Dr. Rosita G. Leong School of Social Sciences will undergo a re-accreditation visit by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). As an institution driven by the Ignatian principle of Magis, we value self-regulation that aims for the continuous improvement of our academic programs. Our commitment to providing our Ateneans with the highest quality Ignatian education is the driving force behind our efforts at self-evaluation and our desire to be reviewed by external peers.

There are three phases to this accreditation exercise: (a) the pre-visit or institutional self-survey;

(b) the formal visit that takes place in April 2027; and, (c) the wrap-up phase that includes a review of the new set of PAASCU recommendations that will be part of the next five-year cycle of strategic planning by the schools.

The PAASCU Management Team in charge of the self-survey exercise following the eight Areas and Standards set by the PAASCU is composed of the following:

Members of the Higher Education Community are welcome to join any of the Area Committees, if interested. Just please send me an email at vp.highereducation@ateneo.edu so that we may include your name in the Area list.

We aim to submit the self-survey report to PAASCU by December 2026.

Preparing for PAASCU is not new to us. Our experience of accreditation has always been about working together as a community, producing a well-crafted document that narrates our five-year quality cycle (SY 2022-23 to SY 2026-27) in the various areas of school organization, and our efforts at setting into action our common aspiration for an education that seeks to form persons of conscience, competence, compassion, and commitment and provide students with both specialized professional training and holistic formation of character.

I trust, always in your cooperation and full support!
