Facilities for Persons with Disabilities

Ateneo De Manila University has long provided accessible facilities for people with disabilities. From elevators to stair lifts to wheelchair ramps, the University has made it a point to install inclusive facilities that cater to individuals of different physical capabilities.

New buildings such as the MVP Center for Student Leadership, Leong Hall, and the New Rizal Library have Otis elevators to provide easy mobility across the five floors of the buildings. The PLDT-CTC building has a Schindler elevator that traverses its five floors while the Dela Costa building has a Hitachi elevator to accommodate the School of Humanities staff.

Reserved Parking for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in ADMU

Older buildings within the University cannot have elevators installed without compromising its structure. To address the need for accessible PWD facilities, state-of-the-art stair lifts were securely mounted on the stairways instead. This allows persons with disabilities — especially those with limited mobility — to conveniently go up and down several flights of stairs. The Ateneo's stair lifts can be found in Bellarmine Hall, Faura Hall, Gonzaga Hall, Kostka, Schmitt, and Berchmans buildings.

The Ateneo decided to incorporate ramps for wheelchair users as well as easy transport of large equipment from building to building. You can find these ramps in Faura Hall, Leong Hall, the New Rizal Library, and the SEC-A building. Ramps are also found along the walkways of Masterson Road.

Aside from elevators and ramps, the Ateneo also designates special reserved PWD parking spots across the campus. These can be found in Bellarmine Hall, the Rizal Library, the University Dorm, SEC-Gonzaga, and SOM-CTC parking lots.
