University Housing Loan

Ateneo de Manila University seeks to provide necessary financial assistance to those employees who are in need of it, mainly by supplying faculty members with affordable housing in nearby locations to the school. This ensures that employees are assisted in finding inexpensive accommodations in order to guarantee that the faculty staff are fully supported, even regarding their living expenses.

The University Housing Loan allows regular faculty members to apply for purchasing house and lot units at the Ateneo de Manila Faculty Housing Project. With this project, the university ensures that employees are in nearby areas such as Nangka, Marikina, which is located approximately only 8 kilometers from the school, enabling employees to minimize expenses for their transportation to the university and back home.

The acquisition of these accommodations are dependent on specific conditions, including the availability of these house and lot units. For those who receive approval for their applications, these individuals are provided with assistance in applying for home loans with one of the two local banks that have existing partnerships with Ateneo de Manila University. In addition, the school grants a PHP 150,000 loan payable that is free of interest after a decade (10 years) to further assist faculty members with the equity requirement for the house and lot unit located in Nangka. This ensures that the faculty members are fully supported especially when they are in need of assistance in finding affordable housing options. Aside from this, the University also takes charge of hiring engineers and contractors to ensure that houses are built according to set standards.

On campus, several units are also available for single faculty housing. The intention for this is to help single faculty members, especially those coming from provinces or other distant areas from the school. Having a rentable space for these faculty members allows them to settle into the University life as easily as possible.

Those who process and oversee the University Housing Loan requests are the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer. It is essential for the application to be endorsed by the Department Chair/Program Director, Dean and Vice President for Loyola Schools (VPLS) for approval of the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer. Ateneo ensures that proper care is given to its employees by prioritizing their wellbeing. With the Housing Loan initiative in place, Ateneo strives to lighten the load of its employees in whatever means possible.
