CLE faculty Meng de Guia on teaching a PIP class: ‘loads of fun…mahirap na masaya’

(The following piece was first posted by Ms. de Guia on her Facebook page in the morning of Friday, March 25, 2022. The Ateneo de Manila Senior High School began its pilot of in-person classes on March 21, 2022.)

Nag FLEX class for the first time yesterday (Thursday, March 24, 2022). I tell you it was loads of fun! After 2 years, may nakaharap na rin na mga students in the flesh!

Chariz. Para kang baliw na one moment, you are talking to the 14 students in front of you and then you remember that you have students onscreen so you run to your laptop to address them para di sila ma-OP!

But after 30 mins of talking and walking to and from the teacher's platform, itinali ko na talaga buhok ko! At yun nga, minigraine na ako mula 2pm hanggang kaninang paggising ko.

Class was at 9 am and I planned to be there by 815 am to set up but when I arrived, halos andun na sila lahat! Ang aga nila!!!! Unbelibabel! So while waiting, instant getting-to-know-you activity kami kasi nga di sila nag-uusap kahit halos isang taon na sila magkakasama online.

I still have 3 sessions to go! At sabi ng mga bagets, bitin daw yung two hours! Bitin???? Charot!

Pero sa totoo lang, ang pusong-guro ko ay labis na natutuwa na makita silang masaya in the company of their friends, walking in the campus (Kahit ang puede lang nila puntahan ay yung classroom nila at ang CR. Di sila allowed mag-ikot at bawal kumain.
