In celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King, Ateneo College Ministry Group, RC LIFE Loyola joins in prayer at the Church of the Gesù for peace and God’s Kingdom to reign in the world.
Last Friday, 24 November 2023, the Ateneo College Ministry Group (ACMG) and Regnum Christi - Love Inspired by Faith and Encounter Loyola (RC LIFE Loyola) ended the semester with an Eucharistic Celebration and Adoration in honor of Christ the King. The celebration at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Side Chapel of the Church of the Gesù was attended by members from both organizations, faculty, staff, and students who joined in giving praise and adoration to Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.
The Mass was celebrated by Reverend Father RB Hizon of the Society of Jesus, Rector of the Church of the Gesù, as presider and homilist, and Rev. Fr. Luis Lorenzo of the Legionaries of Christ, RC LIFE Loyola Moderator, as concelebrant. During the Mass, ACMGers joyfully shared their talent and devotion by acting as servers, lectors, and members of the choir. During the mass, Fr. RB talked about the sides within us that are both Sheep and Goats in relation to Christ the King. The mass was also offered for the intentions of the Holy Father Pope Francis, as well as for peace throughout the world especially in Palestine, Israel, and Ukraine.
After the Mass, Fr. Lorenzo led the congregation in an hour of adoration and prayer before the Blessed Eucharist. During the adoration, Ryan Magno of ACMG gave a reflection on service, peace, and kingship as seen in Christ the King. Fr. Luis also shared about the personal invitation of Christ the King to each of us to imitate Him in all that we do.
This event marks the culmination and thanksgiving of both organization’s activities for the past semester, while also praying for the organization’s activities for the following semester.
About the Ateneo College Ministry Group:
The Ateneo College Ministry Group, established in 1982, is the premier liturgical organization composed of altar servers, lectors, commentators, singers, instrumentalists, and creatives who serve in Mass. It strives to build a community of faith inspired by St. Ignatius of Loyola that yearns to become like Jesus through the Eucharist. We are driven by our love of Christ in the Eucharist, rooted in a deep sense of the sacred, and aimed at serving the community through the liturgy. In fostering communion as a Karbakada Kay Kristo, ACMG endeavors to enliven the word of God by helping the Ateneans experience life in all its fullness in love and service.
