[AGS] Fire Prevention Month
04 Mar 2024
Fire prevention is everyone’s responsibility. It is the collective effort of the family and the community that will help ensure the safety of everyone. Raising fire safety awareness can help prevent fire incidents and protect our homes and families.
Here are some ways to avoid the occurrence of fire:
1. Unplug electrical equipment when not in use.
2. Do not play with flammable materials like matches, lighters, and candles.
3. Enforce a “No Smoking” policy inside and outside the house.
4. Check for gas leaks when using an LPG tank in cooking.
5. Establish an emergency and evacuation plan at home and know the escape routes.
In case of fire,
1. Immediately get out of the burning house and never go back.
2. If trapped inside the house, go to a room with windows leading outdoors.
3. If your clothes catch fire, “Stop, Drop, and Roll” then shout for help.
4. If your house is not affected by fire, call the nationwide emergency hotline and inform the operator of the location of the burning house.
Fire incidents are very dangerous. Have the presence of mind and the courage to find ways to survive or help others survive.
