The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), through its IP Academy, successfully conducted the "IP Forward>> For Women IP Creators, Entrepreneurs and Professionals" webinar on 21 March 2024. This initiative aimed to equip women with the foundational knowledge and tools in intellectual property (IP) to enhance their professional and creative endeavors.

Held virtually via Zoom, the webinar attracted a significant number of participants.  The program featured interactive presentations and insightful panel discussions with accomplished women in the IP field. The discussions provided valuable information on various types of IP protection, practical strategies for safeguarding intellectual property, and essential resources for navigating the complexities of the IP landscape.

A key highlight of the event was the panel session titled "She Breaks Barriers: Building a Career in IP."  The 40-minute discussion, followed by a dedicated Q&A session, featured leading female IP professionals from diverse specializations, including Ms Vanessa Malapit MSc, Head of Protection and Education at the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO), who graciously served as one of the esteemed guest panelists.  Malapit and the other panelists shared their experiences, challenges, and triumphs in navigating successful careers in IP, offering both inspiration and practical guidance to the audience.

The "IP Forward>>" webinar served a significant purpose by fostering increased awareness of intellectual property rights among women engaged in various creative and innovative sectors. This initiative underscores IPOPHL's and AIPO’s unwavering commitment to cultivating an inclusive environment where women's contributions are recognized and their potential for success is fully realized.
