Annual Ignatian Retreat of the basic education units

Congratulations to our dear colleagues from Basic Education (BE) who recently finished their school unit’s Annual Ignatian Retreat.

Gathering their retreat experience, they shared the following:

• “I entered the retreat in need of emptying, centering and refueling. I moved out feeling grateful, recharged, feeling of being a beloved, ready to share God' s graces to others.”
• The retreat was “a transformative journey of reflection, healing, and renewed connection with God and myself.”
• I began this retreat feeling “overwhelmed by plenty of different things happening to me, my friends, and my family. I moved out of this retreat feeling “more relaxed, refreshed, and ready for the grind of the school year to come”
• “Let go and let God. He has always been there for me, patiently waiting for me, endlessly loving me.”
• “I feel invited to take time in appreciating God's love for us.”
• I experienced God “as human, as my companion, as my friend.” I am moved to “be kinder, to be gentler, to live my life slowly and more intentionally.”
• God is “my healer and refuge.” I am moved to “radiate the same love to all the people that I encounter.”
• God is “a quiet presence, a friend who is always there in all instances of my life.” I am moved to “strengthen my relationship with Him and to find a more balanced time with prayer and work.”
• “God is a ‘pauseful’ and ‘peaceful’ God.”
• “My experience has been a renewal.”

Congratulations again, dear BE retreatants, and have a meaningful journey and a life-giving one with and for our dear students and community this SY 25-26! We also thank our dear BE Campus Ministry Team for their work of love. As one faculty shared, “Thank you so much for arranging such a meaningful and impactful retreat for all of us. It gave us the time and space to reflect, grow, and feel God’s presence more deeply.”
