[AGS] Kapistahan ng Banal na Sanggol o Santo Niño

Tuwing ikatlong Linggo ng Enero, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Kapistahan ng Banal na Sanggol o mas kilala bilang Santo Niño. Ang Santo Niño ay ang Panginoong Hesukristo na isinilang ng Mahal na Birheng Maria. Siya ay Diyos na nagkatawang-tao, nakipamayan sa atin, at nakisama sa atin. Ipinagdiriwang natin ito dahil maituturing itong isang punla ng pananampalataya kay Hesus dito sa ating bansa mula nang dalhin ito ng mga Espanyol higit limandaang taon na ang nakaraan.

Ang Santo Niño ay minamahal ng mga Pilipino dahil tanda ito na sa pagmamahal ng Diyos sa atin. Hindi siya naging iba sa atin. Gaya natin, naging tao siya at naging bata. Noong dinala siya sa Templo, nadatnan siya doon ni Simeon, isang matandang nag-aabang sa pagdating ng Mesiyas. Kinarga siya ni Simeon at umawit ito na maaari na siyang kunin ng Diyos pagkat nasilayan na niya ang katuparan ng pangako ng Tagapagligtas. Sabi si San Ephrem na taga-Siria, isang makata at pantas ng Simbahan, si Simeon na matanda ay mahina na ang mga bisig pero nakarga niya ang Kamahalang hindi kayang buhatin ng anumang nilikha. Ang nagbigay-lakas para mabuhat niya ang Panginoon ay ang mismong Panginoon na kanyang binuhat. Pinababa ng Panginoon ang kanyang sarili upang kayanin natin siya. Siya mismo ang gumawa ng paraan upang matanggap natin siya. Naging tao siya tulad natin upang tayo naman ay makatulad sa kanya.

Ipinagdiriwang natin ang kapistahang ito sa AGS dahil kapistahan ito ng mga bata. Ipagdasal natin ang lahat ng bata lalo na ang mga batang kapos sa buhay, nasa bingit ng karahasan, at may mga magulang at pamilyang inuusig. Ipagdasal din natin na sa harap ng Diyos, lahat tayo, kahit anumang edad, ay maging tulad ng mga bata - mga batang kumikilala sa Diyos bilang Ama, at nananalig at nagtitiwala sa kanyang kabutihan, paggabay, at pag-ibig. Maging tulad din tayo ng bata sa pagturing sa kapwa: tapat, walang panghuhusga, lahat kaibigan, hindi nang-aapi, at hindi nanlalamang. Umunlad nawa ang ating karunungan, at lalo nawa tayong kalugdan ng Diyos at ng mga tao.
