Ateneo Korean Studies Program Concludes KFL Workshop for Filipino Educators
26 Feb 2026
The Ateneo Korean Studies Program, in partnership with the Global Leadership Development Institute, King Sejong Institute Quezon City 2, and the Dr. Rosita G. Leong School of Social Sciences, successfully concluded the workshop “AI, Pragmatics & Expert Insights: KFL Workshop for Filipino Educators”.
The workshop featured three thematic sessions. The first session introduced participants to the application of artificial intelligence and educational technology in the KFL classroom, including the creation of songs, short videos, and illustrations using various ed-tech tools. The second session focused on Korean pragmatics and communicative practices, allowing educators to examine culturally grounded speech acts such as greetings, compliments, requests, refusals, and apologies. The final session provided small-group mentoring, creating space for professional dialogue, shared reflection, and network-building.
Korean language education experts from the Global Leadership Development Institute, a nonprofit organization officially registered under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, facilitated the workshop. All participants received Certificates of Completion.
Through initiatives such as this workshop, the Ateneo Korean Studies Program continues to advance its mission of promoting locally responsive and context-sensitive Korean language education in the Philippines. The Program looks forward to sustaining collaborative engagements that support the professional development of Filipino KFL educators and foster networking among them.
