Stepping in sync: Alumni celebrate community at Back to Basics: Line Dancing 2
19 Feb 2026
The recent line dancing workshop offered more than just steps and routines—it was a joyful gathering where Ateneo alumni connected and celebrated the value of community through dancing.
Hosted by the Office of University Development and Alumni Affairs (OUDAA), this event marked the second session of “Back to Basics: School of Line Dancing.” It was held in the Dance Studio Room at the Formation Learning Center of Ateneo Senior High School on 7 February 2026, led by co-alumnus Mr. Allen Isidro from AB Economics Batch ‘75.
Building on the first session, the workshop began by revisiting the “Golden (Glowing Version)” routine. Participants then learned a lively new sequence using a basic bailando shuffle and brought everything together with a funky performance of “I Just Might” by Bruno Mars. Then it ended with a community circle waltz to “Open Arms” by Journey.
Throughout the event, Mr Allen’s infectious enthusiasm and approachable teaching style inspired participants to dance with confidence and leave feeling accomplished. "He was so helpful and considerate, especially with the new ones!” one attendee lauded.
The shared participation of friends and family made the experience even more special, as another attendee said, “It was really fun being able to learn new dances with fellow alumni!”
Nevertheless, the fun does not stop there! In the coming months, there will be more dancing and wellness workshops on the horizon. The Dev and Alum office warmly invites all Ateneo alumni, family members, and friends to join these future activities and strengthen our vibrant community!
