[AGS] Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week
09 Mar 2026
Proclamation No. 759, s. of 1996, declares the observance of the Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week every fourth week of March. The celebration underscores the importance of ensuring that every girl is given equal opportunities, adequate protection, and meaningful preparation for her role in community development.
Aligned with the 2023-2028 recurring campaign of the Philippine Commission on Women, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” this year’s observance underscores that “WE” stands for Women, Everyone, and Women’s Empowerment. It reminds us that achieving gender equality is a shared responsibility. We are called to build an inclusive society by creating more equal, just, and hopeful opportunities for all.
Let us create spaces where girls can share their achievements and dreams, exercise their rights and leadership opportunities, connect and contribute meaningfully, and receive proper support for their health, education, and overall well-being. May we turn this call into action- ensuring that every girl is empowered, heard, and cared for.
