Job Title: Junior Learning Designer - The Ateneo SALT Institute
JUNIOR LEARNING DESIGNER
Part-time, February to August 2024 (Renewable)
The learning designer leads instructional design activities related to the development of online courses. In particular, this team member is accountable for ensuring that sound learning design principles are applied in the production of digital learning content that will be utilized in either fully online or blended learning.
The learning designer works closely with the faculty/subject matter expert assigned in the design of the course syllabus and actual course content, and the Ateneo SALT Team, in the development of a course design and multimedia materials for online courses.
The position is project and output-based, with an expectation to render approximately 40 hours a week, online or onsite (to be arranged with the team member, and based on project activity needs).
The scope of work includes:
- Attending scheduled meetings and workshops with subject matter experts and members of the design team.
- Co-writing and coordinating with the subject matter expert in the:
- Creation of a Micro-Learning Design Document - Detailed sequence of activities and resources for each module.
- Drafting of video scripts
- Setting up various activity types on the Canvas LMS (modules, pages, discussions, assignments, files)
- Writing of in-course narratives and instructions on the Canvas LMS.
- Review of produced course materials
- Supervision in video production and post-production
- Coordination with the Multimedia Designer in the production of necessary media.
Qualifications:
- Has at least 2 years of experience in instructional design and/or teaching and creating online course content.
- Has utilized a learning management system.
- Proficient in Google Suite Apps (mail, docs, sheets, slides)
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in the design/development process
- Interest/background/advocacy for education is a plus!
