University Way of the Cross 2026
As we enter the sacred season of Lent, we are invited as one Ateneo community to make time for God in prayer and reflection so we can walk more closely with Christ. Lent calls us to look honestly at our lives: our joys and struggles, our hopes, our wounds, our deepest prayers, and to place them before God with faith and trust.
All members of the community (students, faculty, professionals, staff, administrators, parents, and alumni) are invited to participate in the University Way of the Cross on Friday, 27 February 2026, at the Loyola Heights Campus. This year, the Ateneo Junior High School, with the Ignatian Spirituality Formation Sub-cluster, will lead us in prayer and reflection.
This year’s theme, “Bless Our Darkness, Be Our Light,” invites us to walk the Way of the Cross with Christ amid the struggles, wounds, and uncertainties of our time, as we also commemorate the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution. Inspired by Fr. Manoling Francisco’s song “Bless Our Darkness,” the theme calls us to lift our prayers for healing, unity, and trust in God, who remains ever faithful and kind, and who continues to guide our nation and our lives from darkness into light.
The University Way of the Cross will begin with the Holy Eucharist at 3:45 PM at St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel (Ateneo de Manila Junior High School), immediately followed by the Way of the Cross procession.
May this Lenten season be an opportunity for each of us to encounter Christ anew, to bring our burdens to Him, and to be strengthened by His light in the midst of life’s challenges.
