1st grader Mika Bagain wins silver in nat’l round of Future Intelligence Olympiad

Ateneo de Manila Grade School mathletes Mika Bagain (1-Masipag) and Rafa Eleuterio (3-Makiling) won silver and bronze, respectively, in the Math competition of the Future Intelligence Students Olympiad (FISO) National Round. The competition was held online on December 4, 2021, with Mika participating in Category 1 and Rafa participating in Category 3 of the Math contest. Aside from Math, the FISO also has competitions in Science, English and Art.
The Olympiad aims to promote critical thinking skills by motivating participants to see Math, Science, English and Art in a different light. The FISO math competition covers topics such as quantity (number theory), structure (algebra), space (geometry) and change (analysis).
The 2022 FISO International Round will be held on March 6, with more than 1,400 students from 15 countries participating. The 2021 FISO International Round attracted participants from Angola, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Egypt, Laos, Myanmar, Nigeria, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
