Submission of nominations to the ASCEND Awards extended until April 22nd

ASCEND2022 Call for Nominations Extended

We would like to inform the Loyola Schools community that we will be extending the deadline for the submission of nominations for the 2022 Ateneo Socio-Civic Engagement for National Development (ASCEND) Awards to Friday, 22 April 2022.

The ASCEND Awards aims to honor undergraduate, senior and graduate students for projects and research work outputs that demonstrate mastery of subject matter and the capacity for synthetic thinking, while engaging the larger community outside the Ateneo in contributing to national development.

Projects are development interventions that have been implemented with observable impact. Research work outputs are those that contribute to knowledge creation with the potential for social impact.

Given the unfortunate constraints imposed on us by the Covid-19 pandemic over the present school year, it is understood that all projects and research work outputs to be nominated have been accomplished through online engagements with concerned communities and/ or organizations.

To be eligible for the awards, projects and research work outputs (research papers, theses or dissertations) of students—whether working individually, in pairs or in groups—should involve community engagement and/or address important sustainable development and nation building concerns.  Moreover, they should have been done as part of the requirements of a credit-bearing course within the period of June 2021 to May 2022.

Two documents, the Guidelines for the 2022 ASCEND Awards and the 2022 ASCEND Awards Nomination Form, are attached below.

These may also be downloaded through this link: https://bit.ly/2022-ASCEND-Awards-Folder

The second document is to be used by all Loyola Schools faculty who wish to nominate projects and/or research work outputs of students.

All duly accomplished nomination forms are to be submitted via email to fsic.ls@ateneo.edu.

ASCEND awardees will be announced and given recognition as part of Paghahandog 2022: A Celebration of Student Leadership and Service which will be held this coming June.

For any questions or concerns you may have, please email the 2022 ASCEND Awards Committee at  fsic.ls@ateneo.edu.
