Admission results and timetable for appeals, Grade 11 School Year 2022-2023

04 May 2022 | Office of Admission and Scholarships, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School

Admission decisions for Grade 11, SY 2022-2023 were released last April 29, 2022.  Each applicant may view the decision on his or her application by logging in to his/her application account in the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School admission system.

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School is no longer accepting new applications for Grade 11, SY 2022-2023. There will be no second batch of applications. Also, the school does not accept transferees in Grade 12; Grade 11 is the only entry point into ASHS. Application for Grade 11, SY 2023-24 will be in October, 2022.

Applicants for Grade 11 SY 2022-2023 who wish to make appeals must follow the instructions and timetables indicated per type of appeal below.

A.  Appeals for a Change of Initial Strand

At present, all slots in all strands are filled up. Thus, applicants should confirm their slots in Grade 11 SY 2022-2023 based on the initially granted strand.

Accepted applicants may submit an appeal for a change of initial strand within the period of May 10 to 24, 2022.  Granting of appeals will depend on whether or not slots in the desired strand open up after all accepted applicants have confirmed their slots.  Provided that there are slots, the applicant’s grades (as subjected to our mathematical model that allows us to compare data across schools and different types of grading systems) and the appeals of other applicants for the limited number of slots will all come into play.

Appeal letters should be written by the applicant and noted by the applicant’s parent or guardian.  Letters should be addressed to Mr. Noel P. Miranda, Principal, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School. Applicants must attach a copy of their latest available Grade 10 report card, along with the explanation of the grading system (numerical equivalents in case of a letter mark or descriptive grading system).

All appeal letters must be emailed to oas.ashs@ateneo.edu. Please indicate the following as the subject of your email:  Appeal for Change of Strand_Last Name of Applicant, Complete First Name (Current School).

Decisions on appeals for a change of initial strand will be emailed to the applicant in early June, in time for enrollment on June 14-24 2022.  (Note: the OAS only processes appeals for a change of initial strand, prior to enrollment. The APAcad handles appeals for change of strand of enrolled students.)

B.  Appeals for Admission:  Waitlisted Applicants from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School

Waitlisted Applicants from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School must wait for the release of their final Grade 10 report card before submitting appeals. Appeals may be submitted as soon as the Grade 10 report card is released.  The deadline for appeals for admission is May 31, 2022.

Appeal letters must be addressed to Mr. Noel P. Miranda, Principal, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School. Letters must be written by the student and noted by at least one parent or guardian. Since slots in the applicant’s most preferred strand may not be available, the applicant should indicate all strands he is open to in order of preference. The applicant is also required to attach his final report card.  Applicants from Ateneo de Manila Junior High School who are required to take SRP may submit their appeal letters as soon as their final report card (incorporating SRP marks) is released.

Appeals letters must be emailed to oas.ashs@ateneo.edu.  Please indicate the following as the subject of your email:  Appeal for Admission(W)_Last Name of Applicant, Complete First Name (Current School). Decisions on the appeals from waitlisted status will be emailed to the applicant in June, in time for enrollment on June 14-24, 2022.

C.  Appeals for Admission:  Waitlisted Applicants from Schools other than Ateneo de Manila Junior High School

Appeals for Admission of Waitlisted Applicants from other Junior High Schools may be submitted from May 12 to May 31, 2022. Appeal letters must be addressed to Mr. Noel P. Miranda, Principal, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School. Letters must be written by the student and noted by at least one parent or guardian.  Since slots in the applicant’s most preferred strand may not be available, he/she should indicate all strands he/she is open to in order of preference. The applicant is also required to attach his/her final report card along with the explanation of the grading system (numerical equivalents in case of a letter mark or descriptive grading system). If the applicant’s final report card will be released after May 31, he/she should submit the most updated Grade 10 report card available.

Appeals letters must be emailed to oas.ashs@ateneo.edu.  Please indicate the following as the subject of your email:  Appeal for Admission(W)_Last Name of Applicant, Complete First Name (Current School). Decisions on the appeals from waitlisted status will be emailed to the applicants in June, in time for enrollment on June 14-24, 2022.

D.  Appeals for Admission: Applicants who were not initially accepted

Applicants who were not initially accepted may submit appeal letters from June 16 to July 4, 2022. Appeal letters must be addressed to Mr. Noel P. Miranda, Principal, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School. Letters must be written by the student and noted by at least one parent or guardian. Since slots in the applicant’s most preferred strand may not be available, the applicant should indicate all the strands he/she is open to in order of preference. The applicant is also required to attach his/her final report card along with the explanation of the grading system (numerical equivalents in case of a letter mark or descriptive grading system). If the applicant’s final report card will be released after July 4, he/she should submit the most updated Grade 10 report card available.

Appeals letters must be emailed to oas.ashs@ateneo.edu.  Please indicate the following as the subject of your email:  Appeal for Admission_Last Name of Applicant, Complete First Name (Current School). Decisions on all appeals from “not accepted” status will be emailed to the applicants in mid-July, in time for late enrollment on July 18-22, 2022.

We request all applicants to follow the instructions and timetable for each type of appeal. Appeals submitted before or after the designated appeal period will not be accommodated. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
