De Las Peñas named co-editor of journal 'Acta Crystallographica Section A: Foundations and Advances'

Dr Ma Louise Antonette N De Las Peñas of the Loyola Schools (LS) has been appointed by the International Union of Crystallography Executive Committee as co-editor of Acta Crystallographica Section A: Foundations and Advances.

A professor at the Department of Mathematics and the Associate Dean for Research and Creative Work, De Las Peñas joins the Editorial Board of crystallographers as the only Asian editor with expertise in symmetry, mathematical crystallography, group theory, discrete geometry, and aperiodic order.

"It is a huge responsibility furthering science to a global audience; I am proud to represent the Department of Mathematics, Ateneo de Manila University, and the Philippines in this endeavor," De Las Peñas said. 

Acta Crystallographica Section A: Foundations and Advances publishes articles reporting advances in the practice and theory of all areas of structural science in the broadest sense. It is a Scopus, Science citation indexed journal published by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
