Partnerships for the Goals

The Institute of Philippine Culture (IPC) of the Ateneo de Manila University is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the Frank Lynch SJ Graduate Internship Program for 2022.  Now in its second year, the Frank Lynch SJ Graduate Internship Program is intended for individuals who have earned a degree in any of the various social science disciplines. It offers opportunities to build careers in research, social development, and social policy.

IPC2

For the program’s second year, selected graduate interns will participate in the IPC’s special project on “Multidisciplinary Explorations into Sustainable and Equitable Development,” a series of conversations to develop concepts in research, teaching, and community learning framed as Inclusivity, Productivity, and Human Rights. As the convenor, IPC will facilitate the series of conversations bringing in sociological, anthropological, economics, political science, communications, and development studies insights alongside NGO and PO voices.

The program is open to social science graduates who completed their studies in the last three years (2019-2021). Candidates must have strong social science training, excellent English writing skills, basic administrative and financial skills, appropriate computer skills including the use of graphics for presentation, and the ability to translate some of the substantive outputs into popular Filipino forms and styles.

The graduate internship program will be conducted online and/or in-person from 20 June 2022 to 20 September 2022.  Accepted interns will receive a modest monthly honorarium. The IPC welcomes applicants nationwide.

To apply, please accomplish the Frank Lynch SJ Graduate Internship Application Form available through this link and upload the following documents: (1) official transcript of records; (2) updated curriculum vitae with a recent 1x1 picture; and (3) sample of research output (eg., research report, journal article).

A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s research methods course instructor or the department chair or unit head must be submitted directly to Ms Shyl Sales, IPC administrative assistant, at ipc.soss@ateneo.edu.

The deadline for applications including all required documents is 5 PM, Friday, June 3, 2022.

The Institute will inform applicants of the graduate internship decision on 14 June 2022.
