UNITED STATES – A judge ruled that the practice of room scanning before remote testing is unconstitutional, an invasion of privacy, and a violation of fourth amendment rights. This decision came after a student sued the Cleveland State University for having a policy mandating such practice thereby facilitating, in his case, the sharing of his confidential documents with other students. UNITED STATES – The Oklahoma Student Loan Authority and EdFinancial announced that they are notifying over 2.5 million student loan account holders regarding a data breach that has exposed their personal data. SAUDI ARABIA – A Saudi woman who is a University of Leeds student was sentenced to prison due to some critical tweets and interactions about Saudi government posts on Twitter.
