Herlihy, Reyes & Ventura are Asian Debate Novice Champs

ASHS B, the debate team consisting of Ateneo de Manila Senior High School students Aliyah Herlihy (12-Anchieta), Kristen Reyes (11-Fontoura) & Pio Ventura (12-Xavier), was crowned Novice Champion of the Asian Schools Debating Championships (ASDC) 2022, which were held from August 27 to September 3, 2022. ASHS B won against a team from Chinese International School Hong Kong Present in the Novice Finals.
Meanwhile, the team of Aki Delos Santos (11-Borja), Jasmin Ang (11-Nakaura), & Kiel Mirandilla (11-Hurtado) broke 4th in the Open Category and gracefully bowed out of the competition as Asian Semifinalists.
For individual awards, Kristen Reyes was named Novice Finals Best Speaker and 10th Best Novice Speaker, while Pio Ventura was named 8th Best Open Speaker and 4th Best Novice Speaker. Last but not least, Aki Delos Santos was named 9th Best Novice Speaker.
ASDC is the largest Asian Parliamentary High School Debate tournament in Asia, attracting hundreds of participants from all over the region.
