Sept. 28, 2022: a milestone day for AJHS

September 28, 2022 is a milestone day for Ateneo de Manila Junior High School (AJHS). For the very first time since it shifted to online schooling in August 2020, AJHS today implemented a 100% full-onsite, full-schedule day in preparation for the daily full onsite operations that will begin on October 17, 2022.

Prior to today, AJHS had two shortened full onsite Wellness Wednesdays (August 17 and September 7) that were held entirely in the high school covered courts. With the guidance and inputs of the school’s Office of the University Physician, Campus Safety and Mobility Office, and Central Facilities Management Office, the AJHS administrators were confident that the health and traffic measures they enforced were ready to progress from a shortened day in the covered courts to a full-blown school day using the full schedule (including recess) and utilizing all classrooms. Today saw all our classrooms being fully occupied by their respective students for the first time since March 2020.

While the day went generally smoothly, the AJHS administrators will of course evaluate today’s experience to improve the next full onsite Wednesdays (scheduled for October 5 and October 12), with the goal of implementing even smoother and safer operations by the time AJHS starts its daily full onsite modality on October 17, 2022.
