Antonio, Bernal, & Cajigal are novice champs of national debate

The team of Ateneo de Manila Senior High School debaters Jamie Antonio (11-Realino), Therese Bernal (11-San Vitores), & Anika Cajigal (11-Bellarmino) is the novice champion of the National Asians High School Debate Championship (NASHDC) 2022, which was held online on September 10-11 & September 17-18, 2022. Additionally, Therese Bernal was recognized as the Novice Finals Best Speaker.
Meanwhile, the team of Daniella Barbacena (12-Anchieta), Ira Concepcion (12-Navarro), & Aliah Garcia (12-Holland) broke 6th in the Open Category and was hailed as National Grand Finalist! The team ended its run as 1st runner up of the national tournament, and was part of a historic feat where NASHDC had its very first all-women finals round.
Last but not least, Alshana Almeda (11-Angelis) was also individually awarded as the 4th Best Novice Speaker of the tournament.
NASHDC is the largest Asian Parliamentary tournament in the Philippines. Over 130 debaters from all over the country compete in the event, which was hosted by the La Salle Debate Society this year.
