On November 4, 2022, the Ateneo Intellectual Property Office (AIPO) together with the Ateneo Research Institute of Science and Engineering (ARISE) and the John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) received a delegation of Japanese high-tech industries led by Leave a Nest Philippines . The purpose of their visit was to explore the innovation ecosystem within the Ateneo de Manila University by touring its facilities and connecting with researchers and Ateneo-based startups. The visit also served as an opportunity for the Ateneo researchers and startups to forge potential partnerships with Japanese industry.

This was followed by a tour in the ARISE office showcasing some of Ateneo’s research projects in the fields of science and engineering, and facilitating exchanges with the various research teams. A courtesy visit was also done to the School of Science and Engineering Dean, Dr Raphael A. Guerrero. The delegation then toured several research laboratories in the PLDT-CTC building and JGSOM’s Business Accelerator (SOMBA) for students.
